In the autumn of 2004 I had the crazy idea that I should quit my life and travel around the world. This notion hit me in late September, and by the first week in November I was in Europe for the beginning of what would become a nine month long journey. I didn’t give myself a lot of time to prepare, so I learned a lot of lessons the hard way! Note, be very cautious if you’re traveling during the daylight saving time or other time changing events. The reservation systems might not recognize the time change in advance and on some occasions you might need to reschedule or reroute your trip due to the lack of connection time.
And don’t miss the beautiful Arch of Constantine which sits just outside the main entrance to the Colosseum. The arch was built in 315 to commemorate Constantine the first’s victory over Maxentius.
