Delhi airport gets a covid vaccination centre

Indira Gandhi International Airport, commonly known as the Delhi International Airport has successfully launched a COVID-19 vaccination centre that is going to vaccinate all employees involved in the airport operations. This means that airlines, cargo, ground handling agencies, air traffic control, and such stakeholders working at the airport will be getting vaccinated. The new vaccination centre has been set up at the airport’s Terminal 1.

Those who are above the age of 18 can get themselves registered, and get the jab, but it is a paid service, so that needs to be kept in mind. The initiative is a collaboration between the airport and Manipal Hospital.

The aviation industry is a priority for the government right now, therefore, employees working in this industry must get vaccinated.

He said, “They provided much-needed support to the country and the countrymen during the lockdown. We are launching the vaccination drive for these Covid warriors who are part of the airport’s ecosystem to save them from this dreaded virus.”

The employees are required to register themselves on the COWIN website, or on the Aarogya Setu app first in order to get vaccinated. The vaccination centre is open for employees from 10 am to 5 pm. Doctors and ambulances are also available for any emergency circumstances.
