A weekend in Haryana sounds unlikely when you have promises of Himachal and Uttarakhand. But there is something that you probably did not know about the state. It’s an adventure event called GRITfest, which is a must-visit for anyone who is an adventure enthusiast. This year, the state is ready to host the third edition of the event. You have rock climbing, highlining, and hiking lined up during this three-day event.

The event is being hosted in the villages of Mangar and Dhauj, located in the Aravalli range. Its terrain is just perfect for an adventurous getaway, replete with nature’s splendour. The largest antelope in Asia, known as Nilgai, can be found here.

Guests are lodged in Aagman Farm Keep, an eco-camp in Dhauj, and this is also where you get your meals. Even sleeping is kind of fun here as you are provided with tents. You can choose a luxury tent if you want to.

Have you heard of Haryana’s 3-day adventure event?

Lake Shail is one of the main attractions of this three-day event, and to reach here you’ve got to go on a hike. It is about an hour’s hike away from the camping spot, but you can always take a different route and see how that goes. Then there is the Trad + Boulder Competition, which basically brings these two forms together. Each team will have one boulder, and one trad climber.

The adventure event is taking place about 15 km away from south Delhi, located in Faridabad. Dhauj used to be a very popular destination for climbers once upon a time, and you can see why. The rocks are certainly quite tempting for any climber and, of course, its large area of land is just a playground for adventures. If you think you have it in you, then go for it!

The festival is being held from Feb 26 to Feb 28, 2021.
