Nashville is soon going to get a brand new museum dedicated to music. The National Museum of African American Music is set to open up in January 2021. African American music is renowned the world over, right from hip-hop to jazz, it is quite simply one of the most celebrated. Nashville of course is a music haven, and is just perfect that the city is now going to be home to the National Museum of African American Music.

The museum is supposedly the only one that is dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and educating the influence of African Americans on music. Needless to say, for all the music lovers out there, this is going to be a treat like no other.

The museum took 20 years to get completed, and is going to give you an insight into black music, starting from the 1600s up until today. It has six galleries, and a theatre venue with a capacity for 200 guests. You would be surprised to know that African American music consists of 50 genres, and subgenres, all of which are covered in the museum.

You can visit the museum in Nashville, located on 7th Avenue. It is going to be inaugurated on January 18, and there is going to be a very special members-only tour on January 23 and 24. For the public, the museum is going to charge anything between $ 13.50 to $24,95, while it is free for children under the age of six.
