Egypt, as we all know is one of the most popular destinations in the world, full of archaeological wonders, the stunning Great Pyramid of Giza, the myths and legends of Pharaohs. Now, you can get all of these experiences sitting at home. During these times of lockdown across the globe, this new initiative is going to help travellers overcome their boredom, and explore Egypt via a virtual tour.

According to Iman Ziad, Deputy Minister for Tourism and Antiquities, “Our message to people is to stay home, stay safe, and enjoy the beautiful sites that make us all proud. We’re pushing for virtual tours to send a message to the entire world about our history. ”

The tour happened on April 10, 2020, and viewers were presented with the opportunity of exploring one the finest tombs on Luxor’s West Bank, the Menna Tomb in Theban Necropolis. It goes back to the 18th Dynasty, and is a popular landmark here in Egypt. The second tour features Queen Meresankh III’s tomb. She was the granddaughter of King Khufu, who is known as the person behind building the Great Pyramid of Giza.
