Vaccinated travellers can now visit the stunning Ecuador

Ecuador now joins the growing list of countries that are now allowing entry to vaccinated travellers.

Reportedly, tourists who have already been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine, will now be able to enter the country and travel to one of its most popular tourist spots, the Galapagos Islands. Reportedly, those not vaccinated will also be allowed to visit Ecuador and its popular island archipelago, but will be required to provide a proof of negative antigen test that had been taken within 72 hours of departure.

The very popular Galápagos Islands are making all efforts to reactivate their main industry, i.e., tourism, after the COVID-19 pandemic put a brake to the flow of visitors to the archipelago. As per the reports, the islands’ inhabitants are now getting inoculated and are all set to welcome vaccinated tourists.

However, those allowed to enter the country will have to comply with COVID-related protocols, such as wearing face masks during their stay as well as maintaining adequate distancing measures.

Although many events that used to be the main draw for tourists still remain prohibited, there will still be unique experiences on offer if budget isn’t an issue.

Further, in October, Ecuador also announced that all visitors will be required to provide a proof of negative COVID-19 test, taken within 96 hours of starting their journey. This period was later shortened to 72 hours in January for all the travellers.
